REGISTRATION CHECKS

Safety inspections to keep your vehicle roadworthy.

At Barr Automotive in Hornsby, we are an authorised inspection station carrying out eSafety checks, with results lodged instantly to Service NSW to support timely registration renewal.

WHAT ARE PINK SLIPS?

Registration checks (Pink Slips) are required to keep your vehicle roadworthy.

Barr Automotive carries out official eSafety checks (Pink Slips) for NSW registration renewal, with results lodged directly to Service NSW so registration can be renewed once inspection requirements are met. Inspections are completed in line with Transport for NSW requirements to confirm minimum safety standards are satisfied.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

An official eSafety inspection is carried out by licensed technicians.

Key safety systems including brakes, tyres, lights, steering, suspension, seatbelts, body condition, and driveline components are assessed against Transport for NSW and Authorised Inspection Station requirements. If repairs are required, a clear report is provided outlining what’s needed to meet compliance.

DRIVING UNREGISTERED

Driving with expired registration is subject to specific conditions.

In some cases, you may drive directly to a booked inspection if permitted by Service NSW, but requirements vary depending on individual circumstances. If your registration has been expired for more than 90 days, a Blue Slip inspection is required, which we do not currently provide.

PINK SLIPS 4 CANCER

Every October, registration inspections support more than vehicle safety.

Through our annual Pink Slips 4 Cancer campaign, Barr Automotive donates the full cost of every registration inspection to the Sydney Adventist Hospital’s Integrated Cancer Centre, supporting cancer patients and their families and helping fund vital care within our local community.
